Specialty Micrometers

Disc Micrometers

Point Micrometers
These point micrometers resemble standard micrometers with C-shaped jaws, stock, and thimble but the measuring faces on the spindle and anvil come to sharp points. These smaller and pointed contact points are used to measure small grooves, recesses, and other tight spaces on a workpiece where a standard micrometer can’t be used. They are also used for making quick comparisons of thread accuracy in screw cutting applications.

Blade Micrometers
Blade micrometers have non-rotating spindles with flat blades for contact points. They have a standard micrometer body, thimble, and C-shaped jaw. They take accurate measurements of circular form tools, diameter and depth readings of narrow grooves, slots, keyways, recesses, and depths between lands and fins.

Screw thread micrometers have a standard stock with adjustable thimble actuation, but have a jaw with a cylindrical spindle that comes to a point with a double V-shaped anvil. This specialty micrometer allows users to accurately measure the pitch diameter of a screw.

These micrometers have a main vernier scale with two separate graduations for taking inside and outside measurements.
