Mechanical Depth Micrometers

Mechanical depth micrometers have a spindle that operators adjust with a thimble that moves down the length of the slot, step, hole, or projection being measured. When the spindle reaches the bottom of the hole, the operator adds the main and vernier scale to determine the reading. These micrometers can be used with various-sized rods of different depth ranges.

Mechanical depth micrometers are used to measure the depth of holes, slots, shoulders, and other projections. They’re operated with a high-precision ratchet thimble. Measurements are read on a vernier scale. Interchangeable measuring rods with different depth ranges can be used with these micrometers.
