Order LookupSpecialty Digital Calipers
Available15 products
Specialty digital calipers resemble standard calipers, but the jaw blade and/or contact point, shape, and orientation is different for specialty applications. The jaws on calipers use two sliding scales to measure between two opposite sides of a tool or part. These digital calipers have an LCD that shows measurements without requiring interpretation. They can be set to zero at any point and include an on/off button that allows users to toggle between inch and mm units. These specialty calipers are commonly used for specific applications like measuring the diameter of narrow, hard-to-reach grooves. They’re also used for center-to-edge or hole-to-hole center measurements and automotive applications like disk or drum brake measurements.

Digital Calipers with Nib-Style & Pointed Jaws for Small Grooves & Recesses
Digital calipers with nib-style or pointed jaws have very thin jaw blades that fit into small grooves only hundredths of an inch wide. Non-standard blade-jaw calipers with laterally thin blades have carbide-tipped measuring faces for determining outside diameters. Nib-jaw calipers, sometimes called workshop calipers, have a small, square tip rather than a pointed jaw and are used to measure inside diameters. Pointed jaws have very narrow tips that are used for determining outside measurements.

Digital Calipers for Inside Groove & RTJ Groove Diameters
Digital calipers for inside groove diameters have specialty jaws that project straight and parallel to each other with outward-facing adjustable contact points for measuring narrow inside grooves. RTJ (ring type joint) calipers have a single set of jaws with small, 23° angled contact points that are inserted into RTG grooves to measure both outer edge-to-outer edge or inner edge-to-inner edge.

Interchangeable-Point, Outside-Point & Outside-Neck Digital Calipers
These calipers allow users to change the shape and size of jaw contact points so specialized measurements of internal and external grooves can be taken. Outside neck calipers have specialty jaws with matching inward-facing thin contact points for taking measurements of external grooves and recesses. Outside point calipers have inward-facing round contact points for measuring the wall thickness of inside bores and recesses.

Digital Calipers with Offset Jaws & Offset Scribing Jaws
Digital calipers with offset jaws and offset scribing jaws have outer jaws positioned at an offset angle from the inner jaws to measure stepped sections. Calipers with scribing jaws allow operators to mark or scribe the workpiece for additional machining or cuts. Offset jaws are used when the two points being measured are not on the same plane.

Gear Tooth Digital Calipers
These gear tooth digital calipers consist of two perpendicular scales that form an L shape. The non-magnetic carbide jaw tips are positioned on either side of a gear tooth. The horizontal scale adjusts to measure the thickness of the tooth, while the vertical scale is adjusted to measure the depth of the gear tooth from the top of the tooth to the pitch line.
