High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Carbide Square End Mills

Available17 products
High-performance carbide square end mills are designed to last longer and create a finer finish when used in their recommended, first-choice materials than general purpose end mills. They are used in production milling. Roughing/finishing end mills remove large amounts of material and create a smooth finish on the workpiece at the same time. Carbide end mills provide excellent wear resistance and heat resistance, and they are harder than high-speed steel, cobalt, or powdered-metal end mills. Also called square-nose end mills, square end mills have a square nose and are rotated against a piece of stock to create a flat-bottomed groove with 90° inside corners in milling tasks. They are used for counterboring, side and face milling, and milling square shoulders.

3-Flute High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Bright Finish Carbide Square End Mills

3-Flute High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Bright Finish Carbide Square End Mills
Three-flute end mills clear chips more quickly than end mills with more flutes and allow for higher feed rates than end mills with fewer flutes. They also typically have larger cores and are less prone to breaking than end mills with fewer flutes. The bright finish on these end mills provides a smooth, polished surface.

4-Flute High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Bright Finish Carbide Square End Mills

4-Flute High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Bright Finish Carbide Square End Mills
Four-flute end mills clear chips more quickly than end mills with more flutes and allow for higher feed rates than end mills with fewer flutes. They also typically have larger cores and are less prone to breaking than end mills with fewer flutes. The bright finish on these end mills provides a smooth, polished surface.

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Altima-Coated Carbide Square End Mills

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Altima-Coated Carbide Square End Mills
The Altima coating on these end mills protects them from wear. It is more resistant to high heat than TiN, TiCN, and TiAlN coatings and is more wear-resistant than a standard AlTiN coating.

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing AlTiN-Coated Carbide Square End Mills

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing AlTiN-Coated Carbide Square End Mills
The AlTiN coating on these end mills protects them from wear and is more resistant to high heat than TiN, TiCN, and TiAlN coatings. AlTiN-coated end mills are used for milling hard and abrasive materials.

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Diamond-Coated Carbide Square End Mills

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing Diamond-Coated Carbide Square End Mills
The diamond coating on these end mills protects them from wear when milling abrasive materials. Diamond-coated end mills are only used for milling nonferrous materials such as aluminum, graphite, copper, and carbon fiber.

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing TiAlN-Coated Carbide Square End Mills

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing TiAlN-Coated Carbide Square End Mills
The TiAlN coating on these end mills withstands high temperatures and protects them from wear. It allows the end mills to be used at faster speeds than end mills with a bright finish, and it resists cracks and oxidation better than TiN or TiCN coatings.

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing WXL-Coated Carbide Square End Mills

High-Performance Roughing/Finishing WXL-Coated Carbide Square End Mills
The WXL coating on these end mills protects them from wear and is designed for milling nonferrous metals and steels with a Rockwell hardness of up to 50 HRC. It is harder and has a higher oxidation temperature than a TiAlN coating.
