Order LookupCobalt Steel Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank
Available394 products
Cobalt steel chucking reamers are harder than high-speed steel chucking reamers and provide good wear resistance when machining hard materials at high speeds. These reamers have a straight shank that mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool. Chucking reamers, sometimes called machine reamers, enlarge or finish an existing hole to an exact tolerance or size for a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts. They usually have a 45° chamfer on the cutting edge to help ensure accuracy as the reamer enters the hole during metalworking tasks.

Bright Finish Straight-Flute Cobalt Steel Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank
Straight-flute chucking reamers push chips forward into a hole as they enlarge it to an exact size for a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts. They are the most commonly used style of reamer, and they have a straight shank that mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool. These cobalt steel reamers have a bright finish that is unaffected when the tool's cutting edges are resharpened.

Bright Finish Spiral-Flute Cobalt Steel Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank
Right-hand spiral-flute cobalt steel chucking reamers pull chips out of the hole as they enter the workpiece, which helps prevent damage to the tool and the workpiece. They are used for reaming blind holes and are suitable for applications with interrupted cuts, such as keyways. Spiral-flute reamers leave a smoother finish on the hole than straight-flute chucking reamers. The bright finish on these cobalt steel chucking reamers is unaffected when the reamers' cutting edges are resharpened. These reamers enlarge a hole to an exact size for a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts, and they have a straight shank that mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool.
