High-Speed Steel Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank

Available4 products
High-speed steel chucking reamers provide good wear resistance in a wide range of reaming applications. These general purpose reamers have a straight shank that mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool. Chucking reamers, sometimes called machine reamers, enlarge or finish an existing hole to an exact tolerance or size for a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts. They usually have a 45° chamfer on the cutting edge to help ensure accuracy as the reamer enters the hole during metalworking tasks.
Primary Material Application

Wire Size Bright Finish Straight-Flute High-Speed Steel Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank

Wire Size Bright Finish Straight-Flute High-Speed Steel Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank
Wire-size high-speed steel chucking reamers come in standard sizes that correspond to American Wire Gauge (AWG) sizes. This ensure compatibility when inserting a wire of the same wire size into the hole created by the tool. The larger the wire size, the smaller the reamer. Straight-flute reamers push chips forward into a hole as they enlarge it to an exact size for a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts. They are the most commonly used style of reamer. These chucking reamers are made from high-speed steel and have a bright finish that is unaffected when their cutting edges are resharpened. The reamers' straight shank mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool.

Fractional-Inch Bright Finish Spiral-Flute High-Speed Steel Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank

Fractional-Inch Bright Finish Spiral-Flute High-Speed Steel Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank

These high-speed steel chucking reamers come in standard sizes expressed in fractional inches. Fractional inch is the most common trade size used for chucking reamers. Right-hand spiral-flute reamers draw chips up out of the hole and are used for reaming blind holes that do not continue all the way through the workpiece. Spiral-flute reamers leave a smoother finish on the hole than straight-flute reamers. These chucking reamers are made from high-speed steel and have a bright finish that is unaffected when their cutting edges are resharpened. The reamers' straight shank mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool.
