Order LookupCarbide Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank
Available1 product
Solid carbide chucking reamers provide excellent wear resistance when machining the toughest materials, such as cast iron, nonferrous alloys, and stainless steel. These reamers have a straight shank that mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool. Chucking reamers, sometimes called machine reamers, enlarge or finish an existing hole to an exact tolerance or size for a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts. They usually have a 45° chamfer on the cutting edge to help ensure accuracy as the reamer enters the hole during metalworking tasks.
Material
TiAlN Finish Helical-Flute Carbide Chucking Reamers with Straight Shank
The TiAlN finish on these carbide chucking reamers withstands high temperatures and protects the reamer from wear during high-speed, dry machining applications with ferrous metals. A TiAlN finish can be an economical alternative to an AlCrN coating. The reamers' helical flutes (also called high-spiral flutes) evacuate chips from a hole as they enlarge it to an exact size for a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts. They also help prevent chips from packing in the flutes during reaming tasks. These carbide reamers have a straight shank that mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool.
