Keyway Broaches, Shims & Bushings

Available1 product
Keyway broaches, keyseating broaches, keyway broach shims, and keyway broach bushings are used to machine keyways, splines, and other irregular shapes into a hole in metalworking tasks. Broaches, bushings, and shims that are used together should have the same style designation (usually indicated by a letter or a letter and a number) to ensure a proper fit. These tools are ideal for maintenance or short-run production operations.

Keyway Broaches

Keyway Broaches
Keyway broaches are bar-shaped tools with saw-like cutting teeth that are used to create precise keyways in the bore holes of pulleys, gears, washers, and other shaft-mounted components to lock them to keyed shafts. Each tooth on the broach is larger than the previous one, so the tool progressively removes more material as it moves into the hole. Keyway broaches are operated with a hand press or hydraulic arbor press.
