Locating Pins

Locating pins accurately position and maintain the location of workpieces in workholding applications. Also referred to as workholding bolts or headed dowels, they have cylindrical mounting shanks and a locating head. They are inserted into the tool body or plate to properly locate the workpiece on horizontal X and Y axes.

Stepped Round Locating Pins
These locating pins have stepped, round locating heads with slightly tapered sides and a flat surface on the top. They are used to position workpieces in reamed holes, as stops, or as fixture feet.

Stepped Diamond Locating Pins
These locating pins have stepped, diamond-shaped heads that are flattened on four sides. They provide single-direction positioning of workpieces or bridge tolerances in hole spacing when used with another locating pin.

Extractable Diamond Locating Pins
These extractable locating pins have diamond-shaped shoulders that are flattened on four sides and shanks with equal diameter to their locating heads. They compensate for tolerances in spacing between two bores and can be removed with a locating pin extractor when replacement is necessary.
