Biosafety cabinets are a type of laminar flow cabinet that have an integrated HEPA filter to contain biohazard samples and prevent contamination of the workspace. Cabinet air is filtered and returned to workspace after contaminants have been removed. Laminar flow cabinets direct air downward to limit or prevent sample cross contamination in the chamber.
Class 1 Biosafety Cabinets
Class I biosafety cabinets draw ambient air from the workspace into the cabinet to prevent sample contamination and move cabinet air away from the worker. HEPA-filtered air is returned to the workspace.
