Autoclaves and sterilizers use steam, heat, or UV light to sterilize equipment (such as scalpels and forceps) before and between uses to prevent cross-contamination in hospitals, labs, and research facilities. Equipment is often bagged before or after sterilization to provide a record and ensure equipment has reached the required temperatures.
General Purpose Autoclaves
General purpose autoclaves use steam, high temperatures, and high pressure to clean and sterilize autoclavable equipment. Steam and heat reach into small crevices that might not be reachable with UV light or beads.

Ultraviolet Chambers
Ultraviolent (UV) chambers use UV lamps to sterilize solid surfaces. Sometimes called UV disinfection chambers, they sterilize surfaces where the light reaches.
