Rotary evaporators remove volatile components from solutions to create a nonvolatile solute for gas chromatograph (GC) applications. Sometimes called rotovap, the evaporator rotates and heats a solution in a water bath to evaporate the solvent and capture the nonvolatile solute for testing.

Manual-lift rotary evaporators have a knob that tightens to secure the distillation unit. The knob is loosened to adjust the unit to any place along the arm.
