Backdraft Dampers
Backdraft dampers, also called gravity dampers, keep air flowing in one direction through an HVAC duct. These dampers open when the ventilation system is running and close dynamically to prevent the backflow of air or materials.
Ceiling/Roof-Mount Backdraft Dampers
Ceiling- and roof-mount dampers install horizontally onto openings in the ceiling or roof and help prevent backflow. They feature spring-loaded blades that open when the HVAC system is running and close when it is not to prevent conditioned air from flowing backward and leaving the occupied space.
