Remote-bulb sensor temperature controls have a capillary tube and sensor that monitor and regulate the temperature of the ambient air, a liquid, or a gas at a distance away from the control. This style of thermostat uses expanding liquid to open or close contacts in response to temperature changes. These controls are ideal for commercial and industrial HVAC applications where the controller must be placed outside of the sensing area, such as refrigeration control and temperature regulation of air or liquids in ducts, pipes, tanks, and boilers.

These temperature controls are suitable for use in hazardous locations, like grain elevators, chemical plants, and mines. They control temperatures in Class I, Group D and Class II, Groups E, F, and G hazardous locations. Class I, Group D hazardous locations are areas where flammable gases or vapors may be present. Class II, Groups E, F, and G hazardous locations are areas where combustible dust may be present. These controls are compatible with single-stage systems. Single-stage systems have a single output level and allow the system to be either on or off. These controls have a capillary tube and sensor that monitor and regulate the temperature of the ambient air, a liquid, or a gas at a distance away from the control. These weatherproof temperature controls have a watertight enclosure and are ideal for cooling tower sump heaters, evaporative condensers, and heating and ventilation equipment. Their enclosures are rated NEMA 4X, so they're suitable for areas that are exposed to water spray, high humidity, airborne contaminants, and corrosive conditions.
