Industrial pedestal fans have a heavy base and an adjustable-height post, so they can be placed on the floor and directed onto workspaces, machinery, or products. The pedestal base provides stable footing while allowing fans to be moved as needed. The post can be raised or lowered to set the fan head at an optimal height. These air circulators (sometimes called industrial shop fans) are commonly used for cooling in manufacturing plants, warehouses, and shipping operations. Made of heavy-gauge materials suitable for daily use, these axial fans have a powerful motor that drives the fan blades to move large volumes of air and feature high-performance bearings for a long life. A guard encloses the fan blades to help protect them from damage and prevent injuries from accidental contact.

High-visibility industrial pedestal fans have a safety-yellow finish that attracts attention to help prevent accidental damage to the fan. These air circulators are commonly used for cooling high-traffic areas where forklifts and other vehicles are used as well as low-light areas where fans may be difficult to see. They have a totally enclosed motor to keep out dirt and dust.
