Heated headlights melt snow and ice from the headlight's lens to improve visibility in wintry conditions. The heating element in the headlight is monitored by a thermostat that automatically activates when temperatures drop to a set low temperature, and then deactivates when temperatures rise to a set high temperature.

These standard headlights illuminate the road at night and in low-light conditions so that drivers see other vehicles, road hazards, and pedestrians. Headlights also ensure that vehicles are visible to other motorists on the road.

Fog lights direct their beam of light lower than standard headlights to prevent light from being diffused by fog, rain, mist, and snow. They do not replace standard headlights, but provide alternative lighting options to improve visibility in harsh weather conditions.

Snowplow lights mount in an elevated position where they are not blocked by the plow when in operation. They ensure the driver's visibility of the road and the visibility of the snowplow to oncoming traffic.
