Spring pins, also called roll pins or rolled pins, are thin, straight pins with rounded or chamfered edges that are press-fit into place. They are formed from a flat piece of metal into a shape that can compress to fit into the installation hole and provide outward pressure to lock them in place.

Slotted spring pins insert into holes and compress to fit inside. They are formed from a metal sheet rolled into an incomplete circle. The gap between the two ends allows the pin to be compressed freely and can be used to grip components between the two sides.
