Thermal Units
Thermal units are components of overload relays that help prevent motor damage and extend the motor's life. Also known as overload heaters, they prompt contactors to break electrical connections with downstream equipment once a set temperature is reached. Thermal units are selected based on the motor's full load current rating and service factor and should be compatible with the overload relay make and model.
