Contact Form

Refers to the number and type of contacts a device has for controlling connections.

1NO/1NC indicates the device has a normally open (NO) contact and a normally closed (NC) contact. NO contacts close circuits when energized. NC contacts open circuits when energized.
1NO/2NC indicates the device has one normally open (NO) contact and two normally closed (NC) contacts. NO contacts close circuits when energized. NC contacts open circuits when energized.
1NO/3NC indicates the device has one normally open (NO) contact and three normally closed (NC) contacts. NO contacts close circuits when energized. NC contacts open circuits when energized.
2NO/2NC indicates the device has two normally open (NO) contacts and two normally closed (NC) contacts. NO contacts close circuits when energized. NC contacts open circuits when energized.

Action

Identifies whether the operator will remain in the position it's manually moved to, or if it will return to its original position once let go. The order represents the sequence in which the switch will operate from top to bottom or from left to right. Maintained switches change from on or off when actuated and stay in the same position until engaged again. Momentary switches stay on or off while held and return to the default position when released.
