Safety Disconnect Switches with Interlock Receptacles
Safety disconnect switches with interlock receptacles have keyed pin/socket receptacles where power cables plug in to draw power to equipment or machinery. Their interlock receptacles prevent mismatched connections and have safety features that restrict power from flowing and prevent plugs from being removed while powered. Safety disconnect switches have manual shutdown mechanisms that open and close multiple circuits to disconnect and connect power from multi-load industrial equipment, machinery, and electrical systems to protect operators from shocks. They're used in lockout/tagout operations and service entries to disconnect power from high-amperage electrical systems in the event of an emergency and to perform maintenance. Their enclosed constructions protect internal components against impacts, debris, and dust.
Fusible Safety Switches
These fusible enclosed safety switches have fuses that blow if the connection experiences an electrical overload or short. They shut off power immediately if there is an electrical malfunction to protect high-current industrial equipment in wet and debris-ridden environments. Fuses are sold separately.

These non-fusible safety switches don't have fuses to protect against electrical overloads or shorts. Non-fusible safety switches are suitable for applications where downstream equipment has its own overcurrent protection.
