Glass Fuses

Glass fuses provide overcurrent protection for low-current circuits in appliances, electronics circuit boards, and lighting fixtures. They typically have a voltage rating of 300VAC or less and are used for applications where they won't be exposed to high heat that could shatter the glass. Their small, cylindrical body is see-through for checking whether the fuse wire is intact or has melted.

One-piece, fast-acting glass fuses with knob combine a fuse body and an insulating cap into a single unit for use as an in-line fuse to protect fluorescent lighting fixtures from overcurrent. They fit into a compatible holder to form a fuse assembly, which can be installed in each fixture on a branch circuit. In the event of a overcurrent, the faulty fixture will be isolated to prevent the shutdown of every fixture on a circuit.
