They are certified for use in in locations where exposure to flammable gases, combustible dusts, or ignitable fibers is common, such as mining and chemical-manufacturing settings. They are typically mounted on a wall or ceiling near the place of intended use. The cord can be pulled and extended to exactly the right length, and the light can be hung for hands-free use.
