Hazardous Location Access Fittings

These fittings join lengths of heavy-wall RMC and medium-wall IMC metal conduit together and have an opening that allows access to the wire or cable inside. Also known as conduit bodies, they’re commonly used for pulling conductors or changing the direction of a conduit run, so they’re ideal for sections of the run that require regular maintenance or frequent modifications. These fittings are installed in hazardous industrial locations, such as petroleum refineries, gasoline storage areas, and petrochemical facilities. They form a tight seal to protect wire and cable in areas where flammable gases or vapors are present.

LB, LL, and LR fittings have a rectangular body and make 90° elbow connections for conduit. They have one outlet that allows access to the wire and cable inside. These fittings are suitable for joining RMC and IMC conduit in hazardous locations where flammable gases or vapors are present.
