Convolute Wheels

Available224 products
Convolute wheels clean, deburr, smooth, and polish surfaces to prepare them for final finishing. Nonwoven material embedded with an abrasive is applied to a hub that attaches to a core so they can be installed on bench and pedestal grinders. They're flexible to conform to the workpiece so they're less likely to remove material than bonded wheels and the abrasive won't scratch the surface. They can be used wet or dry and are often used for centerless grinding. Wheel performance is determined by the qualities of the abrasive and wheel density (or hardness). Softer, less aggressive wheels are used final for finishing and polishing, while harder wheels with more aggressive abrasive are used for stripping and cutting. Convolute wheels are unidirectional. They're marked with an arrow to indicate the direction of rotation.

Deburring Wheels for Carbon Steel & Soft Metals

Deburring Wheels for Carbon Steel & Soft Metals
Deburring wheels for carbon steel and soft metals have an aluminum oxide abrasive embedded on a hard-density wheel that deburrs, blends, and cleans surfaces to prepare them for finishing. Aluminum oxide is a strong, sharp, and durable abrasive that penetrates the work surface and withstands heat and high speeds. Other workpiece material examples include structural steel, cast iron, and heat-sensitive alloys.

Light Deburring & Finishing Wheels for Carbon Steel & Soft Metals

Light Deburring & Finishing Wheels for Carbon Steel & Soft Metals
Light deburring and finishing wheels carbon steel and soft metals have an aluminum oxide abrasive on a medium-density wheel that conforms to surfaces, contours, and edges to limit stock removal and provide a uniform finish. Aluminum oxide is a strong, sharp, and durable abrasive that penetrates the work surface and withstands heat and high speeds. Other workpiece material examples include structural steel, cast iron, and heat-sensitive alloys.

Deburring Wheels for Stainless Steel & Nickel Alloys

Deburring Wheels for Stainless Steel & Nickel Alloys
Deburring wheels for stainless steel and nickel alloys have a silicon carbide abrasive embedded on a hard-density wheel that deburrs, blends, and cleans surfaces to prepare them for finishing. Silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic abrasive that provides a fine finish in low-pressure applications such as finishing and painting preparation. It breaks down faster than aluminum oxide. Other workpiece materials include cobalt, Inconel, titanium, and chrome.

Final Finishing Wheels for Stainless Steel & Nickel Alloys

Final Finishing Wheels for Stainless Steel & Nickel Alloys

Final finishing wheels for stainless steel and nickel alloys have a silicon carbide abrasive on a soft-density wheel that conforms to contoured and decorative shapes without altering surface shape for a uniform finish. Silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic abrasive that provides a fine finish in low-pressure applications such as finishing and painting preparation. It breaks down faster than aluminum oxide. Other workpiece materials include cobalt, Inconel, titanium, and chrome.
