Flaring cup (type 11) grinding wheels for moderate-to-heavy grinding of carbon and stainless steel, vanadium alloy steels, and aluminum are made of grade 32A aluminum oxide. Grade 32A is a vitrified monocrystalline aluminum oxide grain for cool and fast cutting of vanadium alloys and other steels. It's suitable for use at moderate to heavy feed rates with minimal dressing in cylindrical, surface, and toolroom grinding.
