Power sockets are for use with power wrenches that deliver more speed and torque than a hand wrench in tightening and loosening fasteners. They have an enclosed head that fits around and grips the entire head of the fastener so the socket won’t slip off. Sockets are not impact rated for use with impact tools that generate a high speed and torque. A power wrench has a square nub called the drive that fits into the same size drive end of the socket for secure attachment to the drive tool. Power bit holder sockets are used to secure a bit tool and allow for a worn or broken bit to be easily removed from the holder and a new replacement bit installed. Socket bit holders have one end that secures a bit tool that fits inside the indentation on the fastener head to rotate the fastener. The opposite end of the socket bit holder has a square drive that attaches to a power wrench with the same drive size.
