Dimmable Fluorescent Ballasts

Available16 products
Dimmable fluorescent ballasts are compatible with dimming switches and other lighting controls that turn lights on or off and allow the light output to be dimmed. They are used in fluorescent lighting fixtures in conference rooms, schools, and other areas where lights will occasionally be lowered for presentations or to conserve energy. Dimming ballasts and lighting controls must use the same dimming method and dimming type in order to work together. Ballasts protect light bulbs from damaging power fluctuations that can reduce the quality of the bulbs' light output. They provide an initial spike of high voltage to turn on light bulbs and then regulate the current to the bulbs for as long as they are on. Replacement ballasts should have the same voltage and start type as the old ballast, be able to power the number and type of bulbs that are used in the fixture, and be capable of fitting into the fixture.

Proprietary Continuous Dimmable Fluorescent Ballasts

Proprietary Continuous Dimmable Fluorescent Ballasts
Proprietary continuous dimming ballasts are only compatible with continuous dimming controls from the same manufacturer and series. They are most often used in fluorescent fixtures in lighting system retrofits or new construction lighting installations for large hospital, corporate, and university campuses. The ballasts and dimming controls interface precisely with each other, which makes them more reliable than other types of ballasts and dimming controls. These ballasts allow the fixture's light output to be adjusted from 100% light output all the way down to the ballasts' lowest light output setting.

0-10V Continuous Dimmable Fluorescent Ballasts

0-10V Continuous Dimmable Fluorescent Ballasts
These continuous dimming ballasts are compatible with 0-10V continuous dimming controls and use a low-voltage analog control signal to dim the fixtures' light output to any output level between 100% light output and the ballasts' lowest light output setting. These ballasts are used in fluorescent lighting fixtures in a wide variety of settings, but may not be suitable for lighting systems where wires need to be run a long distance to connect the ballasts to the lighting controls.

Line Voltage Continuous Dimmable Fluorescent Ballasts

Line Voltage Continuous Dimmable Fluorescent Ballasts
Line-voltage continuous dimming ballasts are compatible with line-voltage continuous dimming controls and allow the fixture's light output to be adjusted from 100% light output all the way down to the ballasts' lowest light output setting. They are used in fluorescent lighting fixtures in conference rooms, private offices, auditoriums, and areas where lights will be dimmed infrequently. The ballasts receive control signals through their power leads to dim the fixtures' light output, and they don't require any extra wiring to connect them to the lighting controls.

2-Phase Step Dimming Fluorescent Ballasts

2-Phase Step Dimming Fluorescent Ballasts
Two-phase step dimming ballasts are compatible with two-phase step dimming controls and are used in fluorescent lighting fixtures in classrooms, hallways, and other settings that don't require a wide range of dimming. They alter the supply voltage to dim the fixtures' light output to specific levels, for example 100% (full brightness), 50%, and 0% (off).
